Our bath screens by finish page helps the over-bath glass match the rest of your bathroom fittings, from taps and shower kits to wastes, rails and accessories. Black gives the bath area a stronger modern outline, brushed brass adds warmer detail, and chrome keeps the look bright, simple and easy to coordinate. The finish is especially noticeable on wall profiles, hinges and support details. Matching the screen finish makes a shower-over-bath setup feel more planned, polished and complete.

TAILS’ BATH-SIDE FRAME EDIT

Choose the detail that frames your shower-over-bath area

Browsing bath screens by finish helps you coordinate the wall profile, hinges and other visible details with your taps, shower controls and accessories. Chrome keeps the area bright, black and gunmetal add stronger definition, while brass, bronze and nickel tones can introduce warmth or a softer metallic character.

Should Your Bath Screen Blend into the Wall or Frame the Bath?

Compare contrast, metallic tone and how the visible fittings relate to the rest of the bathing area

Shopping Bath Screens by Finish Helps You

Set the strength of the screen outline

Black and gunmetal profiles create a more defined border against clear glass, while chrome and lighter silver tones can feel less visually heavy. Warm metallic finishes give the showering end a more decorative presence without changing the glass itself.

Connect the screen with nearby brassware

The finish can echo the bath taps, shower handset, waste or overflow cover so the bathing area feels more coordinated. Repeating one principal metal across selected details usually creates a calmer result than introducing several unrelated finishes.

Complement the surrounding wall finish

Dark frames stand out clearly against pale tiles, brass and bronze add warmth to green or stone-effect surfaces, and chrome or nickel can suit cooler grey, white and blue schemes. Consider the complete wall rather than judging the finish in isolation.

Choose the Screen Format Before Finalising the Finish

The glass movement must suit the bath area

Fixed, pivoting and folding screens create different access and clearance requirements. Establish how the glass needs to move around taps, furniture and nearby walls before narrowing the compatible models by finish.

Similar finish names may not look identical

Brass, bronze, nickel, gunmetal and black vary in undertone, texture and sheen between manufacturers. Differences can be noticeable when the screen profile sits directly beside taps or shower fittings from another range.

The bath rim still determines compatibility

A preferred frame colour is only suitable when the screen width, lower seal and wall profile work with the selected bath. Check the available flat rim space and surrounding fittings before choosing on appearance alone.

Bath Screen Finish FAQs

Matching metals, visible components and caring for different frame finishes explained

  • Should the bath screen match the taps?

It does not have to, but closely related finishes often create the most unified result because the screen and taps share the same visual area. A contrasting finish can also work when it is repeated elsewhere near the bath.

  • Will every visible part use the same finish?

Not always. Hinges, seals, caps, handles and wall profiles may use slightly different materials or surface treatments. Review the complete product imagery and specification to understand how the finished screen will look.

  • Which finishes show water marks most clearly?

Pale mineral deposits can be more noticeable on black and other dark finishes, while polished metals may show dried droplets through their reflective surface. Regular wiping with a soft cloth helps preserve the appearance of any finish.

DESIGNER’S NOTE

Use a dark frame to define the showering end, a warm metal to soften white ceramic or a lighter finish when you want the glass to recede. Repeat the chosen tone through only one or two nearby details so the bath area remains balanced.
