Tray height affects the step into the shower, but it does not change the footprint. If keeping the finished threshold lower is important, compare low profile shower trays and check the installation requirements for the individual product.

Square trays work particularly well when the shower sits neatly into the geometry of the room. Where practical, line up visible tray edges or enclosure profiles with nearby tile joints, but prioritise comfortable clearance around the exposed corner over perfect visual symmetry.
