TAILS’ MOUNTING MATCH
Position your shower head in polished chrome
Chrome shower arms connect a compatible fixed shower head to either a wall or ceiling outlet while adding a bright, reflective finish. Compare horizontal wall-mounted arms with vertical ceiling-mounted designs, selecting the projection or drop that positions the head correctly and complements the surrounding chrome shower fittings.
Buying Chrome Shower Arms for Wall or Ceiling Mounting
Compare mounting direction, arm dimensions and shower-head compatibility
Your outlet position is confirmed
Choose a wall-mounted chrome shower arm for a horizontal connection or a ceiling-mounted arm for a vertical drop. The two formats position the head differently, so match the arm to the prepared outlet rather than selecting by appearance alone.
The arm length suits the shower
Wall projection determines how far the head sits from the tiled surface, while ceiling-arm length controls its finished height. Compare the stated dimensions with the enclosure and showering position before purchasing the selected chrome arm.
Chrome matches the visible fittings
A polished chrome shower arm can relate neatly to the fixed head, valve, handset and enclosure profiles. For the closest appearance, compare products from the same collection because chrome tone, sheen and surface detail can vary between ranges.
The mounting direction is different
A ceiling arm cannot replace a wall arm simply because the connection appears similar, and the reverse also applies. Select the configuration specifically designed for the direction and support arrangement of the prepared shower outlet.
The chosen head is incompatible
The shower head and arm must use compatible connections and suit the stated installation requirements. Another arm may be necessary where the selected head size, fitting or weight is not supported by the individual product.
Your brassware uses another finish
Reflective chrome may look disconnected beside matt black, brushed or warmer metallic shower fittings. An arm in the established finish can create a more consistent overhead arrangement when it will remain clearly visible against the wall or ceiling.
Chrome Shower Arm FAQs
Wall mounting, ceiling mounting and shower-head matching explained
-
Should I choose a wall or ceiling shower arm?
Choose a wall arm when the water outlet is prepared in a vertical wall and horizontal projection is required. Select a ceiling arm when the supply enters from above and the shower head needs a vertical drop.
-
Will any shower head fit a chrome arm?
No. Check the connection type, dimensions and manufacturer’s compatibility information for both products. A matching chrome finish does not confirm that the shower head can be securely connected to the selected arm.
-
Does the chrome shower arm include the head?
Not always. Many products contain the arm and decorative wall or ceiling cover only, while others form part of a larger set. Check the individual contents before ordering a compatible fixed shower head separately.
DESIGNER’S NOTE
Pair the chrome arm with a similarly shaped shower head and repeat the polished finish through nearby controls, allowing the overhead fitting to feel balanced and intentional.
