You want a lighter panel format

Acrylic panels are generally easier to handle than many heavier furniture-style alternatives. The exact thickness, rigidity and support requirements vary, so compare the individual construction rather than assuming every acrylic bath side panel will feel the same.

The correct section is available

Choose a front panel for the exposed long side and an end panel for a visible short side. L-shaped, P-shaped and other formed baths require an acrylic panel designed to follow their specific outline and handed configuration.

You want a simple wipe-clean finish

A smooth acrylic bath panel can be straightforward to maintain as part of normal bathroom cleaning. When buying, compare the shade and sheen with the bath, as white finishes may differ between manufacturers, materials and product ranges.

Another Bath Panel May Suit You Better If

You want a furniture-style frontage

Acrylic panels usually create a simpler bath surround than thicker, furniture-inspired designs. An MDF or other decorative panel may suit the scheme better when a substantial painted, wood-effect or cabinet-like appearance is the main priority.

The bath profile is incompatible

A straight acrylic front panel will not automatically fit a bowed, corner or shower bath. Select another compatible panel when the length, curvature, handed layout or rim profile does not correspond with the individual bath.

The installed height falls outside range

Bath legs, flooring and rim depth determine the area the panel must cover. Another model may be required where the finished height exceeds the stated panel dimensions or any permitted adjustment and trimming allowance.

  • Will an acrylic bath panel fit any bath?

    No. The panel must suit the bath’s precise length or width, outer profile, installed height and fixing arrangement. Use the manufacturer’s technical drawing and stated compatibility rather than selecting by nominal size or material alone.

  • Do I need both front and end panels?

    Only when both the long side and one short end remain visible. A bath installed between three walls may require a front panel only, while a typical corner installation usually needs a compatible front and end panel.

  • How should acrylic bath panels be cleaned?

    Use a soft cloth and follow the care instructions supplied for the individual panel. Avoid abrasive pads and unsuitable chemical cleaners, which may scratch, dull or discolour the visible acrylic surface over time.

DESIGNER’S NOTE

Use matching acrylic front and end panels for a clean continuous surround, then introduce colour through nearby walls, flooring or accessories rather than the bath base itself.
