Scudo Muro High Rise Gunmetal Mono Basin Tap

Made to sit behind a countertop basin, the Scudo Muro pairs a slim 311mm body with a dark gunmetal finish and a broad fixed spout. It looks sharp and modern without making the worktop feel crowded.

Raised for countertop basins: A 261mm outlet height and 116mm spout projection provide useful clearance over a raised bowl.

Simple single-lever control: One flat handle adjusts the water flow and temperature through the mono mixer’s plastic cartridge.

Performance from 0.5 bar: Produces a published 7.4 litres per minute at 0.5 bar, increasing to 17.5 litres per minute at 3 bar.

Ready for single-hole fitting: Flexible tails are included for installation through a 35mm tap hole; a basin waste is not supplied.

Tails’ Take: A Tall Tap That Keeps Its Proportions in Check

Tall taps can easily look oversized next to a compact countertop basin, but the Muro keeps its width under control. Its narrow upright body, flat lever and 50mm base leave a tidy footprint, while the broad 116mm spout gives the top enough visual weight to feel balanced. Gunmetal works particularly well on this shape because the light catches its flat surfaces and reveals more detail than a plain black finish. The important check is positioning: make sure the outlet reaches comfortably over the bowl before the tap hole is cut.

Will the Gunmetal Scudo Muro Work with Your Basin?

Measure the basin and worktop carefully, then check the available pressure and installation requirements.

A Good Match For

Countertop Basins Needing a Raised Tap

The outlet sits 261mm above the mounting surface, allowing the tap to stand behind or beside a raised vessel basin rather than being hidden below its rim.

Bathrooms with Clean, Modern Shapes

The slim upright body, flat lever and wide spout suit simple basins, straight-edged furniture and uncluttered worktops.

Schemes Using Darker Metallic Finishes

Gunmetal adds depth beside pale stone, white ceramics and charcoal surfaces without creating the stark contrast associated with solid black.

Consider Another Option When

The Tap Hole Sits Too Far from the Bowl

The spout projects 116mm, so a wide gap behind the basin or an unusually thick rim could leave the water landing too close to the edge.

Space Above the Worktop Is Restricted

Allow for the full 311mm height, particularly where the basin sits beneath a mirror cabinet, shelf or sloping ceiling.

WRAS Approval Is Required for the Project

This model is not WRAS approved, so check the requirements of the installation before choosing it for a regulated or specification-led project.

Positioning, Water Pressure and Installation Questions

Where should the tap sit in relation to the basin?

Position it so the 116mm spout reaches comfortably over the rim and directs water towards the usable area of the bowl. Avoid placing the outlet too close to an edge, where splashing is more likely. Check the basin dimensions and intended tap-hole position together before drilling the worktop.

Is the Muro suitable for a lower-pressure water system?

The specified operating range begins at 0.5 bar, where the published flow rate is 7.4 litres per minute. This increases to 10 litres per minute at 1 bar and 14.2 litres per minute at 2 bar. Although a figure is published at 0.2 bar, installations should be assessed against the stated 0.5 bar minimum.

Are the waste and installation connections supplied?

Flexible tails are included, and the tap uses a 1/2 inch M10 inlet connection. A basin waste is not supplied, so this needs to be selected separately. Installation also requires one 35mm tap hole, and the fixed spout cannot be turned to compensate for an unsuitable position.
