Tails’ Take: Graphic Black Showering with a Broad Square Profile

The Scudo Matt Black Square Shower Head & Wall Arm Set creates a strong overhead feature through its broad square head, straight arm and angular wall plate. Matt black provides crisp contrast against pale tiles and white shower trays, while also coordinating naturally with black valves, screens and niches. The head swivels for useful adjustment of the spray direction after fitting, helping the water fall more accurately over the intended standing area. Both visible components are supplied together for a consistent wall-mounted arrangement.

Does This Matt Black Head Fit the Way Your Shower Is Being Built?

Consider the wall outlet, standing position, water pressure and separately selected controls before completing the shower specification.

Who Should Buy

Pale Shower Walls Needing Sharper Definition

The matt black head and arm stand out clearly against white, marble-effect and lighter stone tiles.

Bathrooms Repeating Square Design Details

Its angular forms pair naturally with square controls, rectangular niches and straight-edged enclosure profiles.

Users Wanting an Adjustable Fixed-Head Angle

The swivel connection allows the overhead spray direction to be refined without adding a separate handset mechanism.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

Low-Pressure Supplies Below 0.5 Bar

The specified operating range begins at 0.5 bar, so systems below that level do not meet the stated requirement.

Showers Needing Handheld Rinsing as Standard

No handset, hose, bracket or riser rail is included with this fixed overhead set.

Installations Designed Around a Ceiling Arm

The supplied arm is intended to project horizontally from the wall rather than descend from the ceiling.

Shower-System Planning, Spray Direction and Pressure Requirements

Is this Scudo set a complete shower system?

No. The fixed square head and matching wall arm are included, but the valve that controls water flow and temperature must be selected separately. The concealed pipework also needs to terminate at a suitable 1/2-inch BSP wall connection. A handset and secondary outlet are only required if they form part of the chosen wider shower design.

How should the swivel head be set for comfortable showering?

After installation, the head can be angled so the spray falls over the main standing position rather than too close to the wall or enclosure entrance. The swivel joint provides fine adjustment, but the wall arm still needs to be installed in an appropriate position and at a suitable height. It cannot compensate for pipework placed substantially away from the intended showering area.

What flow can the square head deliver at common operating pressures?

The listed flow is 8.1 litres per minute at the 0.5-bar minimum, increasing to 11.8 litres at 1 bar, 17 litres at 2 bar and 20.9 litres at 3 bar. At 5 bar, the recorded figure is 26.8 litres per minute. The valve and water system should be selected with these figures and the available dynamic pressure in mind.
