Tails’ Take: A Clean Chrome Click Waste for Non-Overflow Basins

The Kartell unslotted polished chrome click basin waste is made for basins without an overflow, giving the bowl a neat push-button finish instead of a loose plug and chain. The round chrome top keeps the basin looking bright and simple, while the sprung plug action makes daily use easy. Press to seal the basin, then press again to drain. It is a practical choice for modern countertop, vessel and cloakroom basins where an unslotted waste is the correct fitting.

Choosing an Unslotted Basin Waste for a Non-Overflow Basin

Check whether the basin has an overflow before ordering, as this decides whether slotted or unslotted is correct.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

Basins with an Integrated Overflow

Overflow basins normally require a slotted waste so overflow water can drain correctly.

Bathrooms Using Non-Chrome Finishes

The chrome finish will not directly match matt black, brushed brass, bronze or nickel fittings.

Unconfirmed Trap Connections

The connected trap or pipework should be checked for compatibility with the G1¼-inch outlet.

Using the Kartell Unslotted Chrome Click Basin Waste

What does unslotted mean?

Unslotted means the waste does not have the side slot used for basin overflow water. It is intended for basins without an integrated overflow. If the basin has a visible overflow hole, a slotted waste is normally required instead.

How does the click waste operate?

The sprung plug works by pressing the chrome top. Press it once to close the waste and hold water in the basin, then press again to open it and allow the water to drain away.

What measurements should be checked before fitting?

The technical drawing shows a Ø61mm top, 80mm technical height and G1¼-inch connection. Check these against the basin waste opening, basin depth and trap connection before installation.
