The Kartell Lois 390mm square countertop basin has the crisp, architectural presence of a geometric vessel bowl, yet its gently rounded corners, softened vertical edges and smoothly curved interior prevent the white vitreous china form from feeling harsh or overly rigid. Its uninterrupted upper edge keeps the silhouette exceptionally clean, while the balanced 390 x 390mm footprint creates a confident focal point on the worktop without becoming visually cumbersome.
Allow for the square footprint, separate tap position and overflow-free bowl before preparing the worktop.
The raised square bowl creates a distinctive focal point above the worktop rather than disappearing into the furniture.
Rounded corners and gently curved inner surfaces soften the basin’s strong square proportions.
With no tap holes in the basin, the brassware can be positioned separately as part of the wider worktop layout.
The surface must provide enough depth and width for the basin, tap position and comfortable surrounding space.
The Lois has no prepared tap holes, so the brassware cannot be installed through the ceramic rim.
This bowl does not include an overflow opening, so users specifically needing one should choose another basin.
The Lois keeps a clear square footprint, but its outer corners, upright sides and internal bowl transitions are gently rounded rather than sharply cut. This gives the basin a more sculpted and approachable character while retaining the visual structure of a geometric countertop design. It works particularly well where the bathroom uses straight furniture lines but needs softer details to stop the scheme feeling overly severe.
The tap must be installed separately from the ceramic because the basin has no prepared tap openings. Plan the brassware position alongside the 390 x 390mm footprint, allowing the water outlet to reach comfortably into the bowl without crowding its raised edge. The tap dimensions and mounting arrangement should be checked before the worktop is drilled or the surrounding wall finish is completed.
The Lois has a 45mm outlet connection and does not include an overflow opening. The selected waste must therefore suit both the stated outlet size and an overflow-free basin arrangement. Confirm the exact waste specification before ordering rather than relying on appearance alone, particularly when the basin, worktop and plumbing components are being purchased from different product ranges.
