Tails’ Take: The Neat Chrome Finish That Hides the Hard Work

The Scudo Premium fast-fix brackets are the small installation detail that can make an exposed shower valve look far more polished. Once the solid fixing bodies have secured the valve connections to the wall, the broad round chrome shrouds wind back over the working parts, hiding screws, plates and pipe entries behind two gleaming discs. The result is a cleaner transition from tile to valve, with no untidy hardware left competing with the shower controls.

Creating a Secure and Tidier Bar-Valve Connection

Confirm the pipe spacing, connection sizes and finished wall position before the brackets are installed.

Who Shouldn’t Buy

Valves with Different Connection Requirements

The proposed valve must suit the 3/4-inch BSP outlets and the prepared wall pipework.

Orders Expecting the Shower Valve

This listing contains the fixing kit and shrouds only, without an exposed bar valve or shower kit.

Installations Requiring WRAS Approval

The fast-fix kit is not listed as WRAS approved and should not be specified where that approval is mandatory.

Preparing the Wall for the Scudo Premium Fast Fix Kit

What is included with the Premium fast-fix brackets?

The fitting arrangement includes two main bracket bodies, two base plates, two olives and two polished chrome shrouds, together with the screws and wall plugs detailed in the installation instructions. The shower valve itself is not included. The installer should still select fixing methods appropriate for the wall construction rather than assuming the supplied wall plugs suit every tiled or boarded surface.

How do the shrouds improve the finished shower installation?

After the bracket bodies have been secured and pressure tested, the round shrouds screw back towards the wall to cover the fixing plates, screws and working connections. Each shroud measures approximately 67.5mm across, creating a broad chrome surround behind the bar valve. This helps disguise the installation hardware and gives the two wall entries a more consistent, professionally finished appearance.

What pipework should be prepared before the kit is fitted?

The wall supplies need compatible 1/2-inch BSP inlet connections, with the brackets presenting 3/4-inch BSP outlets for the shower valve. Scudo’s instructions state that the pipe centres must match the chosen bar valve, which is commonly 150mm, and that the pipes should project 23mm from the finished wall before assembly. The installer must confirm those requirements against the exact valve being used before cutting or drilling.
